Let 'em munch on a HEALTHY lunch! #2

How much should your child be eating for lunch?

Probably more than you think!

Imagine this.  You start your day by getting your wiggles out -- dancing and moving your body to several songs.  You can't help but run, prance, or hop to get from one place to another no matter how many "walking feet" reminders you receive.  All day.  You chase your friends on the playground during outdoor play.  Not to mention how much you are exercising your brain as you learn new things and take in new information.  All this before noon!  PHEW!  How hungry do you think you are by lunch time?

It's so important to not only pack a healthy lunch but also a PLENTIFUL lunch for your kiddo!  Their days are so busy & jam-packed with fun physical activities -- their midday meal is what fuels them for the rest of the day.  Of course children at The Oaks will not be bribed by food or forced to eat anything, but providing children with the option of eating more if they want/need is key!

The following are suggested portion sizes by age. However, your child's stage of growth and development, age, appetite, and activity will all play a part in deciding on what portion sizes are right for your child
